Blogtoberfest & Giveaways

Red & black apron

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up that this apron is a giveaway.

But rather I'm offering sheets. Hah! What a cheapskate!

Green flower sheet

I think I mentioned before I picked up these sheets at a fete for 20c.

I couldn't work out why the bag was so heavy (thick sheets?). It turned out there were two, brand-new sets. The sheets are huge, probably queen size but seem huge.

Orange flower sheet

The sheets still having the sizing on them - is that the right word? - that is, they've never been used or washed and are very crisp. I could imagine little dresses or smocks, bags or anything really! Or even used as sheets, fancy that!

So if you would like to win two sheets (you can choose two the same or one green and one orange, it's up to you), just leave me a comment and perhaps a little anecdote. Something about a thrifting find or about fetes or opshops or washing even, I don't mind!*

I'll throw in a couple of surprises too. I'll draw the giveaway on Saturday 8 November 8PM (Adelaide time).

I hope it's not too late to have a Blogtoberfest giveaway! I've been a little sporadic (blame it on a laptop that keeps dying after 20 minutes!) but 21 posts in a month is miraculous for me!

Please join in and celebrate spring!

*Edited to add: No obligation to leave an anetcdote. Just leave a comment.

At first I saw the apron & thought "ahh if only it were the sheets!" Then it was! I have a sheet like this in purple! I'm imagining a green & purple reversible smock! I have a couple of school fetes to attend this weekend...I'll be hoping for as good a score!

I think I asked you when you first posted the green sheets for a bigger picture as I've got a similar pillowcase, and if they matched I was gonna give it to you...but now you're giving the sheets away! So I'll throw my hat in the ring. I bought my green print pillowcase to make a skirt out of, so i'd love a bit more to make sure it covers my fat bum.

Oh, I'm always up for a giveaway, and those sheets are great!

My anecdote is: I sold you that apron! Woo hoo!
If you're washing it, that means you must be using it, and for that, I am extremely happy.....

Can I enter? They are gorgeous!

My best thrifting find? There are so many. The chest of drawers I bought for $2 - a lick of paint and new handles and it looks fabulous and there is nothing wrong with it; the crystal bowls I bought for $5 - again, not a thing wrong with them; endless stack of fabrics and books, the coffee tables, the bookcases - a lot of my house consists of thrifted objects.

I'll stop rambling now.

I'd love a sheet or two, so put me in the draw please. My latest opshop find was a 50c glass decanter with stopper, it looks so much prettier in my workroom than the ugly plastic bottle of demineralised water did. (I use it for filling up my iron)
take care

wow - 21 posts - that's almost more than I've done in a year! lol congratulations!!
The sheets look gorgeous. I try and get thrifted sheets so that I can use them as quilt backs cause I'm too poor to buy pretty fabric to back my quilts with (up until now I've been using calico). Mind you, I love the idea of aprons or little dresses for cute little girls.......

I would so love to win those yummy sheets. One of each would be perfect. My most recent thrifty trip was to my Grandma's. I scored all kinds of goodies like tablecloths, candlesticks, jewellery, old letters and photos and glassware. Lucky me!

wow, what a bargain you got! I remember once, my husband went to JC Penney a Dept. store here in the states. He was buying clothes for his family members in Central America for the holiday and happened upon markdown items. He was behind the register for about an hour and a a half, he spent about $400 which may not seem like a bargain, but he SAVED over three thousand dollars from regular prices! All of the women around began clapping when the clerk announced his final total and how much he saved. Boy, was he red in the face! If you'd ship to the states, please count me in for those wonderful sheets!

Love the sheets. I'd be using them for sheets for my daughter's bed. I've been hanging to make some fitted sheets myself. And I'd use it for a dress for her. Good thrifting anecdote... see my blog... 50's sewing machine for $10 and a Gocco print maker for $10. I rocked those weeks!

Wow, I have so many ideas for those sheets already. I live in Canada so I don't know if I'm available to win the giveaway, I just thought that this was a good time to stop creeping your blog and actually make a comment! I love your stuff. It's so creative and original. Bravo!

Drawn to your blog because of the name...and now because of the pretties and goodies!;)

I leave you this quote, from a friend of mine (who just happens to be a fabric addict):

Fabric is a gateway drug....

The lucky last Blogtoberfest giveaway. Count me in for sure. I'd love one of each of those sheets.

The best story I can think of is the day I visited Curlypops during Blogtoberfest on my bike and ending up buying 2 carloads worth of op shop goodies.
