Mixed

My local paper featured a great story about a couple who collect Sunbeam Mixmasters; they have 120! Now that’s a collection. They started with two found on the side of the road (love that hard waste!) and took it from there. I didn’t realise the old models in Australia came in such beautiful colours.

Keeping me going:

I love seeing that a man is part of the mixer collection craze. It's pure bliss to find a partner who shares such a random obsession!

I would love one of these mixers - have always loved my mum's, but don't have any space in the kitchen.

Sulu, I agree! I'm lucky that Mr J 'gets' my collecting compulsions.

Handmade, I meant to add that I love those funny connections too. In Lost in Translation, there is a redheaded jazz singer who ends up in Bill Murray's bed. She's a local singer from these parts and recently Mr J stood behind her in queue to pay for petrol. Not a big thrill really (because she is seen at the opening of a envelope) but just a funny thing. Your son's experience is far more interesting!

It's a lovely idea but where would you put 120 mixers? Fascinating but slightly scary. I wish I'd seen them on Collectors!
