Tin Tin

I know a fantastic woman who runs our local jumble sale. She is keeping an eye out for old tins (vintage tins sounds so much more romantic but old tins it is).

Recently, she found these two for me and would barely accept a couple of dollars for them. One is MacRobertson chocolates and the other is Cadbury’s biscuits. I’m not sure why I’ve decided to collect them: something old and useful, a special present that has a domestic use afterwards maybe.

The tins are beautiful. I've found it hard to find new tins- I wanted one to give a christmas cake in last year for a gift. A vintage one would have been so lovely.

What is it about old tins? I love them too. The floral one is particularly nice.

And well done on de-blocking the sink, most impressive. We've always used draino at our place.... your way is probably much kinder to the environment

I love vintage tins and I have some that were nan's then mum's now mine!! and I TOO have two of the McRobertson's one!! my nan used to keep her buttons in it (which are mine now too)and mum did the same in hers I think it's lovely to have these tins and I use them for every day stuff, it is sad everything is packaged in throw away stuff these days

I love that bottom tin. I've found myself picking up more and more of these old tins as I find them, and have started to wrap and send gifts in them as my number of them has gotten too high. I've also started buying those products that I need in tins whenever I can. I love the ones you've posted recently.
