Here's a lovely oppy tablecloth. Brand new. Made in West Germany.
I really like the green but not the middle panel. Nevermind, I'll cut it up anyway.
And look at this cute couple. A nicely hemmed piece, plus a runner and half a dozen small serviettes.
A European theme.

Some great finds 'put aside' by my favourite rummage sale lady. She knows my taste!
The step-by-step cookery book is also a winner for some very homely cooking (though with rather too much offal for me!) and great Cornish Ware on the cover.
And some fantastic advertising. Who is Ethel Brice?*
*Edited to add: just worked it out - she's the author of the book!
It's been Cauliflower Cheese and Tuna Mornay Week this week, while Mr J has been otherwise engaged.
Too dark now take a pic of the Tuna Mornay tonight. I might take one of the remains in the morning. I've made enough to sink a ship!

I discovered the motherload of aprons at the oppie today. Three crazy, retina-burning patterns and
two green more demure little numbers.

Op-shopped this fab pink apron today. (Is it me or are aprons becoming like hen's teeth?) It has some nice ric-rac and braid trim.
And a nice green and pink tablecloth in fantastic condition. Both from the Salvos, my friends.
And the best chocolate biscuits; definitely my biscuit of the week! Pictured is the dark chocolate and extra dark chocolate. A biscuit with a slab of chocolate on top. Need I say more!
My birthday month is well and truly over so maybe the present giving (from me to me!) should draw to a close.
Cinti at My Poppet is proposing a stash clearance sale so go make a suggestion and she might pick you for a big giveaway.
Just noticed this is my 103rd post. Crikey! I haven't stuck at anything for this long that didn't involve payment! Significant only because I've kept with the blogging malarkey. The frequency and quality of the posts is questionable so I felt prouder of the first year anniversary and not too fussed about missing the 100th post.
This quilt happened to be on the line with the rest of the washing today. I made it about 15 years ago; mistakenly quilted with big stitches using quilting thread (should have used something like purl cotton); flannel with wool batting; washed to death, frayed seams, and some fabric has fallen apart. But still it is warm and cosy and known as the Woogey.

Dearest J brought home a Golden Book for me that he'd salvaged from lost-and-found. He thought it had been there long enough and knew I'd been thrilled to have it.

A good op-shop day: a large linen teatowel, a linen tablecloth, two gingham tablecloths and a fantastic tartan, woollen picnic rug.
Oh, and some marbles.
For J.
Just for fun.

Clothes line photos are the best. I remember every time I do it but forget in between and then think (again) 'clothes line photos are the best!'.

I just can't stop looking at this fabric. It's one of five cafe curtains, op-shopped, of course. There is so much happening in the pattern that there is something to look at every time. They are thermal backed and in pristine condition. I reckon they'd be great as a bag. And if I was a skirt person!

I picked up a few secondhand children's books and this Hansel & Grettel (with a double-T) is my pick. The story wigs me out but the illustrations are great. It's published by Benwig Books (Slough: I wonder if they know The Office?) but there isn't a publication date.
In the text above, there is a very odd 'The' with the rest of the sentence hanging over onto the next page. Nothing bugs me more in text and seems really weird in a book.
Back home again with dad... what were you thinking, Father!?!

This fabric has been blogged about the place a bit. Seeing it in the Spotlight catalogue is one thing but having a look at in person is another thing.
I thought it might be a bit weedy and thin but its not.
And seeing Jodie’s bag (with Dick & Jane fabric, another one I'm hoarding like a fool!) meant I needed to buy some too. Don’t ask me how much I bought nor how much I spent. Being a fabric-blog tart, I left with the slicker on a roll (but I didn’t buy the whole roll). And the mushroom fabric was bought up big. I forgot how heavy metreage is in comparison to fat quarters. Never mind… I took mum with me and she was a good stick and helped me carry.
We hit a couple of op-shops and scored this funny little String bag. I think it was someone’s school sewing project because it is all hand sewn. There is a little embroidered hole in the middle – to pull through the string maybe?

I wrote another nice long post at work. Of course I forgot to email it home. God forbid I should post it on the blog at work. I was schmoozing Mr IT to suss out if he’s checked my internet usages lately. I think he’s bogged down by the crazy children we work for who are oh-so techo that they don’t think anyone over 25 reads their My Space posts nor that their internet usage is monitored, tracked, recorded and disciplined! I think I’m the least of his worries. But now the moment has passed, the impetus is lost…
I’ll show a picture of this rocking tablecloth I found* this week instead: 100% rayon (important). Made in West Germany (exotic). Vinnies. Perfect!
*If you're in Adelaide go to the Prospect Road Vinnies. It's tiny but it's the neatest, cleanest, most perfect op-shop. Everything is neatly tagged and no matter what, I always seem to find something.

A quick trip out at lunchtime today to Vinnies scored a new linen tea towel, (more) buttons, zips and a gingham cloth. Linda, you're right, opshopping is the best retail therapy!
Some fabulous fat quarters from Aunty Cookie in the mail today.
